Objectives of the union shall be:
1. To foster a sense of community within the Department of English at Simon Fraser University (SFU).
2. To represent the academic interests and welfare of its members to the English Department and to SFU.
3. To stimulate and promote interest in the study of English and the facilities and affairs of the English Department.
Automatic membership shall be extended to:
1. All declared Majors, Minors, Joint Minors, Honours, and Graduate Students in the Department of English at SFU.
2. All students currently enrolled in at least one course offered by the Department of English at SFU.
