Union Mandate:
Objectives of the union shall be:
1. To represent and promote the academic and welfare interests of the SCDSU’s members to the department of Sustainable Community Development, the University, and the Simon Fraser Student Society.
2. To provide an organized body through which Sustainable Community Development students may actively participate in University affairs.
3. To provide a vehicle for the Sustainable Community Development students to interact with the SFU Centre for Sustainable Community Development and Sustainable Community Development organizations in the community for the purpose of learning and practical experience.

Automatic membership shall be extended to:
1. All students currently enrolled in the Certificate and Post-Baccalaureate Diploma Program; and
2. All students currently enrolled in one or more courses offered by the SCD department.
